JCC Coordinator & Camp Supervisor - Laura Laengerer
This is Laura’s 5th summer as the JCC coordinator at the Jewish community centre. Each and every summer, Laura has added dynamic programming to our camp calendar. Her passion for developing a strong Jewish community centre is the backbone behind our camp. You can often find Laura participating in camp activities. She is looking forward to another fantastic summer at Camp Kadimah.
Director - Jonathan Vaisberg
Jonny Vaisberg is thrilled to join the Camp Kadimah team this year. Jonny comes to us from Camp Kinneret in Mont Tremblant, QC, where he attended as both camper and staff for 11 years. In addition, he has been involved with the North American Federation of Temple Youth, Union for Reform Judaism, Camp George, McMaster Jewish Student's Association, and teaching at various GTA synagogues. He especially has a love for Jewish and Israeli music. He is currently completing a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour, with a focus on Music Cognition at McMaster University. Jonny believes that there is no better learning atmosphere for a child except when they are surrounded by friends and mentors in a fun and familiar environment. He is excited to bring his wealth of Jewish programming experience, while still maintaining the fun and dynamic atmosphere that Camp Kadimah promises and provides.
Administrative Coordinator - Nomi Cuneo
Nomi is a Kadimah veteran! This is her 7th consecutive summer working at Camp Kadimah and her 11th summer in total. For Nomi, the anticipation of another amazing summer approaching never gets old. She is looking forward to contributing the creative lesson plans she developed while teaching at both Temple Anshe Sholom and Beth Jacob Synagogue, as well as the enthusiasm and programming tools she learned while staffing conventions for the Eastern Canadian Region of United Synagogue Youth. After the summer, Nomi will be finishing up her degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Sociology at McMaster University. This summer, if you cannot find Nomi in her home away from home (aka the camp office) you will probably find her outside with those loveable Kadimah kids!
Unit Head - Geoff Zalter
Geoff is currently studying Geography and History and McMaster University. He is extremely excited for Camp Kadimah this summer as he is counting down the days until July. He brings a wealth of camp experience and an enthusiastic mindset to Camp Kadimah this summer. Geoff plans on becoming a primary/junior teacher in the future and does not enjoy anything more than summer camp. Geoff has been a valuable member to the camp throughout the years, and is most recently known as the sports specialist. Geoff is thrilled to share new ideas and contribute to the continual success of Camp Kadimah. Geoff strives to ensure that all campers have an amazing experience while always putting safety first.
